August 08- SHAMU'S MOMMY... AND LOVING IT
Well, I'm 28 weeks & 3 days now. Starting to
feel like a bit of a whale and there's still 12 weeks left?!
Wouldn't trade it for the world, though! I can tell Max is getting
crowded in his womb- he spends the bulk of my days at work
shifting and trying to get comfy. I think I'm starting to note a
regular sleep/wake schedule, too. Can't wait to meet our son face to
face!
One of our new favorite games at home
is setting the remote control on my belly and watching it jump
up and down. (We're into cheap and amazing thrills!) =)

July 08- WE'VE GOT A MOVER & A SHAKER!
Our little boy has officially hit the 'extremely
active' stage. His heartbeat was 170bpm at my OB
appointment this morning. My initial reaction was "Wow, that's a LOT
quicker than my last visit- is that normal?!", to which the
OB replied "Yes, he's fine- he's just obviously
really active!" He spent the greater part of today moving
around and shifting positions. I am so amazed by the little ball of
life growing inside of me... *swoon*
In other news, Max's big brother (Bernie) has
started shying away from me. I tried to pet him before I left
for work today and he ran the other direction and hid! I was
actually kind of sad about it. The mister brought up a good
point tonight though- perhaps my growing size is what's scaring the
dog child... my belly IS getting quite grand and Bernie IS
skiddish whenever he thinks something is going to be dropped on him
as it is!
26 June 08- SHOWING &
KICKING
Two strangers at work in the past day have stopped
me in the hall and asked if I was pregnant and when I'm due. Have to
admit it's kind of cool to finally be at the "Yup, I'm definitely
showing!" stage...
Even more importantly, the little boy has
started to kick up his heels! I can feel the wonderful little
flutter kicks and it's one of the most amazing feelings in the
world. So far he seems to be a morning person
(how is beyond me, given his genes!) and I fully admit
that I try to linger in bed as long as possible now just to
feel him kick. I've also started talking to him on a
regular basis and have given him permission to kick as often
and as hard as he likes. (Please remind me of this in about a month
or so! Ha! Ha!)
18 June 08- SENIOR
CITIZENS?!
We spent this past Sunday in State College looking
at a housing possibility. On our way back home, we stopped at
the Prime Outlets in
Grove City to shop for a few needed items. We stopped at Hoss's
Restaurant (affectionately called 'Hoss's with 3 S's' by me) for a
quick dinner before heading back to the 'Burgh.
Long story short, as we were checking out I saw
Michael guffaw and then say "I'll tell you when we're outside". It
turns out we'd been given the Senior Citizen discount on our meals!
Michael laughed at first (because he'd seen my meal had the
discount)... and then realized that his did as well. We now
joke that we can tell Max he was giving us Senior Citizen's
discounts even before he was born!
